Thinking about a float today?  Check Water Depth USGS Guages (Pine Grove, Inwood, Harper's Tavern, Hershey) provide additional data on the Swatara Creek.  http://www.erh.noaa.gov/marfc/   Guidelines:  If Harper’s gauge is above 2.25’, water is too high to launch; if below .3’, water is too low to launch

Swatara Water Trail Extension Map   On-water activities are inherently dangerous.  Please take note of dams like Jonestown and Hershey, which are identified on the map.  Also, river conditions vary depending upon weather, and conditions can change rapidly based on weather events.  You are responsible for your own safety, and must follow PA boating regulations.

A few Devil Ducks are still on the loose.  If you find one of these ducks on the Sojourn, bring it to the end, and tell us where you found it.  After nine months, in January 2013, Mike Schroeder found 7.  We're down to 4 Red Devil Ducks that are still on the loose.
